Green corridor helps transport live heart from Dwarka to Okhla, saving 51-year-old man’s life
The transportation of a live heart in 26 minutes using a green corridor between Aakash Hospital in Dwarka and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Okhla helped save the life of a 51-year-old man.
The patient had been on the waiting list for a transplant for the past year. It was only after the family of an 18-year-old who met with a road accident agreed to donate their son’s heart that the 51-year-old’s life could be saved.
The man had been in critical condition due to a heart attack in 2021.
According to a report by news agency ANI, a team of doctors, led by Dr TS Meharwal, successfully performed the transplant.
